1   What type of Computer do I need to run AgriFair21C?

The computer described below is the minimum configuration required to run AgriFair21C.

5   What about MS Access? Do I need it? Which Version? 

That's a good question. The short answer is YES you need MS Access  but the real answer is complicated or at least a bit long.

We previously offered AgriFair21C with a licensed run-time version of Access 2000. However; we found that supporting such installations was difficult and did not keep our Fairs happy. We like happy clients, check with any of them. So all of our Fairs now run on full versions of MS Access.

MS Access is Microsoft's database component of MS Office. The AgriFair21C software package is written in Access.

The database  is NOT included in most Office suites. Generally it is included only if your MS Office suite is the Professional, Premium or Developer version.

MS Access is NOT included in Office suites called Standard or Small Business.

If you have Access 2000, 2002 or 2003 installed then there is no problem. AgriFair21C will run on these Access versions. MS Access 2002  is included in SOME (see above) versions of MS Office XP.

If you have an earlier version of Access, 97 or 95 or lower then we  have a problem. AgriFair21C is NOT compatible with any version of MS Access prior to  Access 2000. There are ways around this problem but we need to discuss it. 6  We use another Fair System, can you convert our data?  

Probably 

We've managed to convert quite a few Fairs from their previous Fox and other Fair systems. 

If your current Fair System uses MS Access then  conversion should not be much of a problem.  

We have also had success converting Word and WordPerfect documents and Excel spreadsheets. However; these conversions depend on how consistently the data has been entered.
